What is Reiki

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that is often classified as energy healing. It is believed to involve the transfer of healing energy through the practitioner's hands to the recipient, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy or vital force).

The practice of Reiki typically involves the recipient lying down fully clothed while the practitioner lightly places their hands on or near various parts of the recipient's body. The practitioner is said to act as a channel for healing energy, which is then directed to the recipient to balance and harmonize their energy systems.

Reiki is often associated with relaxation, stress reduction, pain relief, and a general sense of well-being. Proponents of Reiki believe that it can help remove energy blockages, stimulate the body's natural healing processes, and create a sense of balance within the body's energy centers (chakras).
